Short
A quick update: my short movie, “Feeding”, is finished — finally! I’m thrilled with the way it turned out. Everyone involved did great work. The finished product lacks only in the writing and directing departments.
Now it’s time to hit the festival circuit with both barrels. The Boston Underground Film Festival has already accepted a rough cut. Keep your fingers crossed.
Jerry Bruckheimer, look out.
Today I posted the complete text of “Great Man and Cinema”, a collection of anecdotes from Kim Jong-Il’s movie career. I picked this up in 2005 during my visit to Pyongyang, North Korea, and as this is a somewhat scarce resource, I thought I would share it with you, lucky reader.
Not having seen many North Korean movies, I can’t appreciate the references, but I do like how he turns moviemaking into swashbuckling adventure – climbing towers, commandeering helicopters, and all sorts of other things only an absolute dictator with the resources of an entire subjugated nation can do.
So give it a read, or at least a glance. I also brought back On The Art Of The Cinema, Kim Jong-Il’s comprehensive guide to moviemaking. This is my secret weapon for breaking into Hollywood, so I’m not sharing.
Bless this mess.
Hello. Once again, I’m revamping my personal site, and so for the time being things are in a bit of disarray. Bear with me – I will be back in action soon enough.
